Challenging Gender Roles

1.) If someone wanted to challenge gender roles in our society through public discourse, what might be ways to go about it?

There are many ways to challenge gender roles in our society through public discourse. One of the ways is to do exactly what I am doing right now. Blogging; it is a perfect way to get your ideas out to the public and have others share as well. In order to challenge gender roles in our society it is necessary to lead by example. In order to truly challenge this in society, I beleive one must be different than the typical male or female. People see how others interact, most males act similiar just like most females act similiar. I beleive that leading by example would raise the attention of more Americans about challenging gender roles.
In my opinion the best way to challenge gender roles is to get out into the public and discuss the issue. With the combination of public speech and leading by example it will eventually have other people challenging gender roles themself.
Other ways of challenging this issue would be: give out handouts, writing a book, starting a group where people can get together and talk, possibly getting a newspaper article to write your opinion, television interview, public presentations, etc...
