deaf culture
Deaf people basically want to be acknowledged as merely people who speak a different language right? They are also angry because they do not want to be acknowledged as disabled people as well. So if they are to be acknowledged as having their own language isn't that sort of like accomodating disabled people? If we don't acknowledge them as being disabled does that mean that we should accomodate in public places like schools etc.? People who speak a foreign language posess the same biological capabilities as English speaking people. Therfore they are not disabled, rather just from a different culture. People who are deaf lack the physical ability to hear and need assistance in society beyond the sense of language.
